Objective of the call for projects
The aim of this initiative, supported by the Research and Training committees, is twofold: to promote the Institute's scientific visibility and attractiveness on an international scale, particularly in its interdisciplinary dimension, and to encourage scientific exchanges and research collaborations at an international level through meetings.
Description of the scheme
This action concerns international congresses (in the broadest sense: colloquium, symposium, thematic school, etc. bringing together speakers and participants from different countries), regardless of the location of the event, for which at least one of the co-organizers is an IM2B member and which fall within the scope of at least one of the Institute's 4 strategic axes:
- Biodiversity, molecular mechanisms and machines
- Metabolic diversity and cellular approaches
- Inter-organism dialogue
- Biotechnologies: bioenergy, environment, health
The IM2B offers support for young researchers, i.e. PhD students and post-doctoral fellows only, by covering their registration fees. This assistance must be shared equally between one or more young researchers who are members of the IM2B and one or more young researchers from outside the IM2B.
The number of registrations taken in charge will depend on the amount of the registration fees and the budget granted by the Research and Training committees, taking into account the amount allocated to this action by the IM2B for the year 2024.
The IM2B member(s) co-organizing the conference will define the criteria for awarding the grant, ensuring that half of the grant goes to young IM2B researchers, and half to young researchers from outside the IM2B. In addition, it is requested that a gender balance be maintained among beneficiaries.
