Our strategic and operational monitoring bodies

To fulfil its missions, the executive office is supported by 7 bodies that monitor strategic and operational aspects of the IM2B. Learn about their missions and members.

The institute is administered by the Institute Council, which validates its main guidelines in terms of research, training and innovation.

Its main duties are to:

  • Validate the scheduling of the institute’s actions
  • Validate the budget and financial accounts
  • Accredit projects funded by the institute, in accordance with committee recommendations
  • Give an opinion on proposed reviews and assessments
  • Appoint members of the strategic training and research council as well as the Director of the institute.

The Council comprises members entitled to vote within two jointly represented colleges:

  • College 1 comprises deans (or their representative) from the following faculties: Sciences (7 spokespeople), Polytech (3 spokespeople) and Pharmacy (1 spokesperson).
  • College 2 comprises directors (or their representative) of the 11 institute member laboratories, each with 1 spokesperson.

The Council also includes members with an advisory capacity:

  • Members of the IM2B executive office
  • The Director of the university’s doctoral college
  • One student and PhD student representative
  • The Director and Assistant Director of the Mediterranean institute for microbiology (IMM)

The Institute Council is chaired by the institute Directors. It meets at least twice a year.

This committee proposes and implements the institute’s research initiatives.

In particular, it defines the framework of calls for projects and selects the projects to be accredited by the Institute Council.
