Enhancing the socio-economic impact of research in Microbiology and Biotechnology
At a time when interactions between academic research and the socio-economic world are becoming essential, IM2B and IMM are deploying an ambitious dynamic built around the IMMpulse cycle and Biopartners Day. These initiatives are designed to support researchers at every stage of their research development, from invention to innovation, and in structuring collaborations with industrial players. By fostering contacts with players in the innovation ecosystem and supporting the creation of partnership projects, this approach helps to reinforce synergies between public research and the private sector over the long term.
As a first step, IMM and IM2B are committed to strengthening partnership research by creating concrete opportunities for collaboration with the private sector. IMMpulse Day #1, dedicated to public-private partnerships, introduced teams to the support and funding mechanisms for partnership research. This dynamic will continue with the Biopartners Day, organized on April 28 around the workshop "At the heart of water: microbiology at the service of innovation", in partnership with the Aqua-Valley, Éa éco-entreprises and Novachim clusters. By bringing together laboratories, companies and support structures around pitches, posters and B2B meetings, this event will encourage the emergence of collaborative projects and the co-construction of scientific projects responding to industrial issues. These projects may be submitted to the call for projects launched by IM2B at the beginning of April, to qualify for funding for a Master 2 internship, in order to carry out an initial feasibility study.
At the same time, a second dynamic aims to raise community awareness of innovation issues and provide support throughout the IMMpulse cycle. Structured around three complementary workshops - public-private partnerships, research valorization and entrepreneurship - this course offers a global vision of the link between research and innovation. It enables participants to gain a better understanding of the steps involved in commercializing scientific results, the support and funding mechanisms available, and the opportunities offered by entrepreneurship. By combining expert input, feedback and privileged time for exchange, IMMpulse contributes to the emergence of new trajectories and the long-term anchoring of a culture of innovation within the scientific community.
