From Monday, September 15, 2025, 9am to Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 2pm, the 2025 workshop on "Biohybrid Systems: From Fundamental Understanding to Applications" will be held at the Jardin du Pharo in Marseille.
Following on from a series of international conferences organized by the Bioénergétique et Ingénierie des Protéines Laboratory (BIP), in partnership with the University of Munich, the main theme of the 2025 edition will be “biohybrid systems”. This event, co-organized by the BIP and iSm2 laboratories and co-funded by IM2B, aims to promote exchanges on the latest advances in the design and construction of biohybrid systems, and to initiate national and international collaborations on these cutting-edge enzyme-based technologies.
Key Topics:
- Enzymes specifically engineered for biohybrid applications.
- Strategies for wiring multi-enzyme systems to enable efficient electron transfer.
- Replacement of natural cofactors (NAD(P)H, ATP) with artificial systems.
- Understanding confinement effects on multienzyme reactions in controlled environments.
- Development of chimeric systems to investigate reaction mechanisms or combine desirable enzymatic features.
- Biohybrid light-driven systems for harvesting energy and extracting electrons.
- Encapsulation and protective matrices to enhance the robustness of fragile enzymes.
