Master's internship

Objective of the call for proposals

To support innovation in biotechnologies and strengthen the Institute's socio-economic base, the IM2B is launching this call for projects to encourage the initiation of partnership research projects. This scheme is accompanied by a series of workshops to raise awareness of the challenges of innovation (IMMpulse workshops) and the organization of a biopartners' day, on the theme of water, to encourage meetings between academics and industry.

In the field of biotechnologies applied to energy, the environment and health, the objectives of this call for projects are :

  • support the development of academic research's potential for valorization and innovation ;
  • foster closer ties with players in the socio-economic world;
  • support the launch of partnership research projects to build lasting collaborations;
  • create a leverage effect on academic research funding, by initiating collaborative projects that will find funding relays (in particular the CIFRE scheme);
  • strengthen Master's degree courses by developing inter-sectoriality and professionalization.

The aim of this call for projects is to support the launch of partnership research projects and to "de-risk" them with a view to applying for the CIFRE scheme.

Up to 5 Master 2 internships in IM2B laboratories will be funded.

Tender process

This call for proposals takes place in two stages:

  1. Call for partnership research projects open to staff from laboratories within the IM2B perimeter,

    The Training Committee selects up to 5 partnership research projects.

  2. Call for applications and submission of applications by internship supervisors.

    Validation of applications by the Training Committee.

Project eligibility conditions

  • The project must be implemented within an IM2B research structure, and the internship must be supervised by a Researcher / Lecturer / Researcher or Engineer who is a member of the Institute.
  • For ethical reasons, academic sponsors with a status corresponding to articles L531-1 et seq. of the French Research Code (formerly articles 25.1, 25.2, 25.3) concerning "the participation of research personnel in the creation of companies" may not submit a project involving the company for which they have this status.
  • The partner from the socio-economic world must be based in France, preferably in the Southern Region. Whether under private or public law, the partner must meet the eligibility criteria for CIFRE doctoral grants.
  • An IM2B member may participate in only one project submitted to this call for projects.
  • Applications must comply with the IM2B timetable and framework.

Project selection criteria

After checking the eligibility of the projects submitted, the IM2B Training Committee will evaluate the projects and select up to 5 partnership research projects, according to the following selection criteria:

  • Quality of the project in relation to the objectives of the call: novelty and originality of the project, scientific ambition and feasibility, relevance of the project for IM2B.
  • Project implementation: quality of the consortium and added value of the collaboration, match between project objectives and resources mobilized, cross-sectoral and professionalizing nature of the internship, match between the internship topic and the profile of students enrolled in Master's programs within the IM2B perimeter.
  • Potential impact of the project: contribution of the feasibility study to the continuation of the project, impact in terms of structuring the collaboration, development prospects.
