Objective of the call for projects
The aim of this initiative, supported by the Research Committee, is twofold: to promote the Institute's scientific visibility at national and international level, particularly in its interdisciplinary dimension, and to encourage scientific exchanges and research collaborations at national and Internationally level.
Targeted actions
The aim of this scheme is to co-finance scientific conferences organized locally by at least two IM2B UMRs on a cross-disciplinary theme falling within at least one of the Institute's 4 strategic areas:
- Biodiversity, molecular mechanisms and machines
- Metabolic diversity and cellular approaches
- Inter-organism dialogue
- Biotechnologies: bioenergy, environment, health
In addition, these conferences must meet one of the following criteria:
- Either they take place on one of the IM2B sites (Joseph Aiguier site, Luminy, St-Jérôme, Timone or Cadarache) and are free of charge, open on registration to PhD students, post-docs, researchers and teacher-researchers, technology platform staff, and representatives of the socio-economic world.
- Or they take place in the PACA region, and registration may be subject to a fee.
Conditions of eligibility
This action concerns the organization of new scientific conferences taking place in 2024, and held in the region (either on one of the IM2B sites, or in the PACA region, depending on the chosen scheme). Training events (pedagogical days, PhD students' days, etc.) are not eligible.
Conferences must be co-organized by at least two researchers/teacher-researchers/engineers from at least two IM2B research units.
At least half of the speakers must be from outside the IM2B.
Registrations must be open to participants from outside the Aix-Marseille site.
An IM2B member may submit only one project under this call for proposals.
Selection criteria
- Quality of the project with regard to the objectives of the call for proposals: novelty and transversality of the conference theme, presence of national and Internationally renowned speakers, balanced gender distribution of guest speakers and geographical diversity of their institutions of origin, targeted audience.
- Project implementation: added value of inter-UMR collaboration, project feasibility, obtaining co-financing
- Potential impact of the project: structuring effect for IM2B, potential gain in visibility, potential impact on research collaborations, possible meeting report
